Introducing the October '11 - March '12 Sketchy Thursdays Design Team

Thank you to everyone who submitted for our October -March Design Team call.  We wish we could pick every single one of you but I guess we'll just have to settle for keeping you on as our much anticipated participants every week.  ;oD  We do so look forward to seeing what everyone creates from our sketch inspirations.  But I digress...I know you are all excited to find out who will be inspiring you every week for the next six months.

The Oct '11 - March '12 Sketchy Thursdays Design Team

Hi! My name is Amanda Johnson. I live in Loogootee, a small town in southern Indiana. I am blessed enough to be a stay-at-home mom to my two little ladies, Emma who is 4 and Katlyn who is 2, I love having the opportunity to be there with my girls as they grow and get all those important everyday moments captured with my trusty camera! :) They keep me very busy and inspire me on a daily basis. I am married to the most amazing man, my best friend Derek, we just recently celebrated our 8th anniversary.
I began scrapping shortly after I had Emma, I loved taking pictures of her, but wanted to have a place to also record the stories behind all those pictures. I didn't want to be sitting with her one day looking through albums, and have no memory at all of what some of those everyday pictures were about, the story behind them. So, a friend took me into my LSS, and I was a goner. :)

I am so beyond excited and honored to be a part of the team here at Sketchy Thursdays! Thanks so much!!

You may recognize Antonia.  She's been a member of the Sketchy Thursdays DT before.  This time around we're welcoming her back as our Digi Girl!!!!

Hi – I’m Antonia Krajicek. I reside in sunny Scottsdale, AZ with my boyfriend Nate and our three furkids Baxter, Bugsy & Shawna. By day I work as an Instructional Media Designer for an airline, by night I moonlight as a scrapbooker, blogger, crafter, graphic designer & Etsy shop owner. Aside from being a returning Sketchy Thursdays DT member, I’m also a Creative Team member at JessicaSprague.com.

As a long time paper scrapper, I began my digital journey in 2010. I’m self-taught in Photoshop and Illustrator, and one day on a whim, decided to purchase a digital kit. I created a layout and was instantly hooked! Soon my paper layouts became fewer and far in between and my folders of digital layouts began to grow. While I still scrapbook with papers, I prefer digital as my medium – which is what I’ll be sharing with you each week here at Sketchy Thursdays!

If you’re interested in checking out my crafting, scrapbooking and other projects, be sure to visit my blog: www.greenhornedunicorn.com. Also, take a peek at my recently restocked Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/GreenHornedUnicorn.

Hi!  I'm very very happy to be joining this creativity team!!!

My name is Azumi.

When I challenge Sketchy Thursdays, I use a handle name, AZ.

I live in Japan with my husband and two precious children.  One is a girl at 5 years old,and the other is a boy at 9 months old.  My job is illustrator and designer on a company.  But now I'm taking maternity leave to care for my newborn baby.

I love and always enjoy creating scrapbooking, shoot a photograph, drawing illustrations. These are giving me many many inspirations.

Beginning October I'll do my best and play ST's amazing sketch with you!!!

My name is Elena, I'm 32 years old, 1 husband (Max), 1 daughter (Emma), 1 dog (Lucy) and 1 blog (http://www.paperandcolors.wordpress.com/)!

I live in Italy in Bologna and after many hobbies including decoupage, country painting and doll's house I came to scrapbooking in 2009 when my daughter was born and then all my free time is only devoted to scrapbooking (or taking photos or blogging or playing with my Emma, I never stop!) I love all of the USA, places, cities and food and when I can afford I travel there.

I hope to contaminate your work with a little "Italian-inspiration" !

Hi,  I'm Janet!  I live in Michigan with my very patient husband, two wonderful kids and one adorable dog.  I started scrapping when my son was a baby, which was 12 years ago. (Man, I'm getting old!) I love to scrapbook and make cards.   My other hobby is taking pictures.  I try to have a camera with me whenever possible!   I am very excited to be a part of the Sketchy Thursdays DT and look forward to inspiring and being inspired by everyones work!

My name is Kasia Nowakowska. I'm 32 years old and live in Poland with my husband and one wonderful son.

I have been scrapping for nearly 2 years but I have always had a passion for creating. I love creating LO and my son is my greatest inspiration :) I wanted to keep memories for my family and this is the reason why I started scrapbooking. Now, it is a part of my life. I wouldn’t say that I particularly have a style I just create using products I love. I often incorporate stitching on my pages and I'm always looking for elements in everyday life.

All my scrapwork can be found here on my blog:  http://papierowywymiar.blogspot.com/

I am excited and honored to be a member of the Sketchy Thursdays DT and I sincerely hope you'll enjoy my layouts.

I'm Kyoko Matsumura from Japan.  Also known as mini. I live in Japan with my fabulous husband and two lovely children (five-years-old daughter and two-years-old son).  I have been scrapbooking and enjoying playing with paper for approximately four years and I am truly addicted!

I'm so excited to see many fabulous layouts and scrappers.  I will have found so much inspiration here.  I'll do my best!

Hi, my name is Melissa and I've been paper scrapping since 1997 when my oldest daughter started kindergarten. I am a self-employed Work At Home mom. I have four beautiful daughters and we have a baby boy on the way! (due in December). Scrapping, photography, reading, and creating other art projects are my way of relaxing. My girls all love to create with me also, and we have fun spending time together in my craft room. I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Sketchy Thursdays DT!

Aaaaaaaand, last but not least...

I'm a happy stay at home mom to one lovely and not so girly little girl and a wife to wonderful and supportive husband. I started scrapbooking in 2010 when we lived in Boston, MA I fell in love since then and began to scrapping our photos during our stay in the states. I love card making as well. Now we've move back to our hometown Jakarta, Indonesia and I started teaching scrapbooking class at a local scrapbook store.

BUT WAIT!!!

We were so sad to see the current DT go because they've been just awesome so we asked if any of them wanted to stick around and play with us for another term.  It was an almost unanimous yes!   Woohoo!

Please welcome back for another term...

Hi, I'm very happy to be in this fantastic team. My name is Ana Paula Leal and I live in southern Brazil with my dear husband and two wonderful children. I'm an architect and discovered scrapbooking when I had a handicraft shop, I've been in this area for five years and I love everything related to it. I teach courses and I am part of a important design team in Brazil. This is my first international team and I am very happy to show my work outside my country. Thank you for this opportunity. I hope I can contribute greatly to the success of this great team.

I am a SAHM to my sweet little girl Charlotte and newborn Kyler. I currently live near Houston and work at my LSS part time. I started scrapping about 7 years ago. I LOVE to stay up until the wee hours of the morning cutting and punching and gluing away at my pages.

My name is Corrie and I have loved paper since I was a young child. I started scrapbooking in high school, although I didn't know that is what I was doing then, and made a huge album dedicated to my favorite band. Fast forward many, many years and the scrapbooking started up again when I realized all my precious photos were just being tossed in a plastic tub! Three beautiful kids, an adoring husband and me, a camera happy mom, equals a lot of photos! Since that day scrapbooking has become my release, my joy and my obsession. I love all the paper, all the supplies and the community. I am so thrilled to be a part of the Sketchy Thursdays team! It is one of my favorite places to be!

I'm a marketing manager for a high tech computer company and I scrap every free moment I get! What I care most about though is my FAMILY. My hubby and I were engaged for only 3 days before we were married in St. Lucia, West Indies in 2002. I have a wonderful step-son and 2 beautiful daughters. They are indeed my muses. I've been scrapping for about 8 years but got really serious about a year ago...I have a lot of catching up to do. My hubby is a saint and supports my hobby 100%.

As for my style, I wish I could say I have a set style but I really don't, at least not that I've identified yet. I think if I were to put a label on it I would limit myself, subliminally. I pretty much go where the photos and my mood of the moment take me.

In my spare time, when I'm not playing with the kids or scrapping, you can find me on an underwater diving adventure. To see more of my work, stop by my blog at http://www.thespottedleopard.blogspot.com/."

I'm Lisa and I'm from the UK. I run a wedding business from home which fits perfectly around my 2 Kids, Hollie and Louis. I get to create most days and love to bake and read too. I love messy scrapping, paints, mists anything that gets my fingers grubby.

Hi! My name is Mariko and I live in Japan with my husband and lovely son. I began scrapbooking when my son was 1 year old. Since then, scrapping is a big part of my life. After my family says goodnight, my free-time begins! I enjoy scrapping with papers, photos and coffee :) I'm so happy and honored to be a part of the Sketchy Thursdays design team! Thanks so much!!

I am a happy mother to three energetic, wonderful boys and wife to an amazing, supportive husband. I began scrapbooking in high school and became seriously addicted when we started our little family. Besides a means to record precious family stories, scrapbooking is my creative outlet. When I am not scrapbooking or creating for my Etsy shop, Precocious Paper, I am choreographing and teaching as a professional dancer and actively serving in my church. I am thrilled to be designing once again for Sketchy Thursdays and feel very blessed to be a part of such a fantastic site.

Hi!! I'm Tomomi, living Japan with my husband and adorable two daughters (Nayu aged 7 and Sayu aged 4).

I'm so happy and honored to join this wonderful team for another term!!!

Scrapbooking is a big part of my life. I think it is the good opportunity to not only record family stories but also review our life and memories from various angles.

When I enjoy scrapbooking, I love cutting out pattern papers and picking cute items:) I love Pink×Yellow, polka dot, knitting, chocolate, taking a walk, colorful things and my family!!

And, of course we can't forget to include our Social Director and ourselves:

 julie
Social Director extraordinaire and CSO (Chief Smiley Officer)

My name is Julie Tucker-Wolek and I am way excited to be a part of Sketchy Thursdays! :) I have been seriously scrapping for the past 3 years, but recently found out that I made my first scrapbook for my Aunt back in 1985! lol! It was filled with a bunch of stamped "thumb" people! lol! I guess even back then, scrappin' was in my blood!! I am honored to be apart of this amazing team! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Our Founder, Co-Sketch Artist

Thanks to my mother's influence, I have been crafting and scrapbooking since I was a teenager, and now I can't imagine my life without it. When I'm not working with Heidi and Julie on Sketchy Thursdays, you can find me as the Blog Coordinator for the Scrapbook Circle kit club (http://www.scrapbookcircle.com/). I am also a part of the Paper Issues creative team (http://www.paperissues.blogspot.com/) and the Polkadot Door team (http://www.polkadotdoordesign.blogspot.com/).

I am lucky enough to have been published in Creating Keepsakes, Paper Crafts Magazine and CARDS Magazine, as well as many online publishing and guest DT opportunities.

When I'm not creating for Sketchy Thursdays or my Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/dianaj1012), I'm spending time with my wonderful husband, my five-year-old son and have a fabulous career as the Production Director for a national teen magazine.

I'd love for you to follow me on my blog at http://www.designbydiana.blogspot.com/. Hope to see you there!

Sketchy Thursdays began as a weekly fun sketch challenge on Diana's personal blog. Some goofy chick off the (virtual) street convinced her to partner up and make it its own challenge blog. (That'd be the one below, lol.)

Just look at us now!!!!!

Hi there!  I've been scrapping since my son was born and he just turned eight this week.  I feel like I've come a long way in those eight years, that's for sure!!  I'm a SAHM to a spunky couple of kiddoes who keep me well-stocked with scrappy fodder.  I also get lots of inspiration from my husband whom I've been with for 21 years and our two crazy Basenji dogs.  I'm a huge believer in taking tons of pictures at every event and throughout the day because you never know when you'll get that one great photo.

I've loved being a part of this amazing ride called Sketchy Thursdays and enjoy making half the sketches each month.  I'm also an Assistant Editor and an Education Coordinator for the crafting magazine Scrapbook News and Review.  I am having a great time diving into the mixed media ring and writing up several tutorials a month on scrapbooking, cards & stamping and mixed media.  You can check out my stuff on my blog (http://notbusyenuf.blogspot.com/) or over on SNR (http://www.scrapbooknewsandreview.com/).

Whoa!  Whoa!  Whoa!  Wait a minute!  You may have noticed that's quite a huge team.  In fact, it's 20 in total!  But we love the idea of being able to bring you more than 10 different styles of inspiration every single week.

Diana & I warmly welcome our new and returning DT members to another fabulous term!!

Look for the inspiration debuts from our newest team with the October 6th sketch.

Thank you everyone for your tremendous support and amazing participation each and every week.  We are so honored that you enjoy our blog and that what we love to do inspires you.
