July Guest Design Team Challenge

I know I keep saying it but really?  Are we really already hosting our JULY Guest Design Team challenge??!!  Wow.

You might recognize this sketch from last year but I thought I'd bring it back for a little more love.  BUT NOTE: I'm going to throw a twist in there for you...

The response to last month's GDT challenge with a little extra inspiration got such good feedback that I thought we'd do it again.

This month your GDT layout must not only be based on the sketch above but must incorporate at least two aspects from the following bits of inspiration.

The approach of summer brings to mind...

juicy fruits...
We Heart It - Ola

cool popsicles...
We Heart It - Symptom

and patriotic treats.
We Heart It - Rachel Brandt

Not only will the lucky July GDT winner get to play along with our DT all month long but they'll get an awesome sampling of some of SRM's stickers.

SRM Stickers is a leading scrapbooking and card making sticker manufacturer. SRM Stickers are crystal clear and melt into your patterned paper or cardstock for a seamless sentiment, embellishment, title, or journaling feature. SRM Stickers has assembled a dream team of Designers offering amazing samples every weekday at their blog. SRM Stickers can be purchased through their online retail store.

Here's a look at what's in the prize pack:

So, once again your July GDT submission must:

* be based on the sketch above

AND

* incorporate TWO bits of inspiration from the three summer pictures.

Please comment on THIS POST with a direct link to your layout submission by Saturday, June 18 at 11:59pm EST for your chance to win.

Good luck and happy summer!

♥Heidi

Love the sketch ... bummed about the other challenges ... I don't have children and only scrap travel photos ... I'd love to play along for the GDT, but can't factor those other things into my LO ...

Pam, this is where you can get creative. Use the colors as inspiration, the sprinkles, the shapes, whatever...the pictures are there for inspiration. If I expected all the layouts to be about a specific topic I'd have noted that. I hope you'll take a look again and step outside the box for inspiration. :oD

So... my layout is a "Holiday" layout, not typical with the pictures for inspiration, but.... it was the sprinkles and the yummy food that inpsired me!

Here is a link to my layout. I choose to use the berries as the representation of the strawberry and the green representing the kiwi in the second picture. I think the whole layout just screams "summer".

Thanks for clarification Heidi! I took those as literal challenges and the need to incorporate specific things ... I'll see if I can get something submitted in time!

Cheers-

Pam

Wow, I really worked the old scrapbookin' muscles on this one! Lots of fun and pretty layout. Here is the link to my layout and explanation of the two "inspirations"

Here is my attempt:

http://bit.ly/kmkA8x

The sprinkles on the cupcakes made me think of dots (hence the dots on the background and stars in my layout), the green in the Popsicle really stood out to me so I used that as an accent color, and the way the cherry stems curved inspired the tails on the stars.
Thanks for the inspiration and great sketch!
