Meet the updated Design Team!

Hello everyone! Thank you to all of you who applied for the new Design Team for Sketchy Thursdays. It was a difficult, agonizing and gut-wrenching decision. We are a site who awards the weekly prize randomly for a reason—I hate choosing between so many fabulous artists!

With that said, we did have to choose someone, right?! First, let's announce who is staying with us from the current DT. Heidi, Julie and myself aren't going anywhere—pretty obvious (lol). In addition to that, please welcome back:

Hi! My name is Mariko and I live in Japan with my husband and lovely son (4 years old). I began scrapbooking when my son was 1 year old. Since then, scrapping is a big part of my life. After my family says goodnight, my free-time begins! I enjoy scrapping with papers, photos and coffee :) I'm so happy and honored to be a part of the Sketchy Thursdays design team! Thanks so much!!

I am a SAHM to my sweet little 2 year old, Charlotte, and baby #2 will be making his/her appearance in early August. I currently live near Houston and work at my LSS part time. I started scrapping about 7 years ago. I LOVE to stay up until the wee hours of the morning cutting and punching and gluing away at my pages.

Hi, I'm very happy to be in this fantastic team. My name is Ana Paula Leal and I live in southern Brazil with my dear husband and two wonderful children. I'm an architect and discovered scrapbooking when I had a handicraft shop, I've been in this area for five years and I love everything related to it. I teach courses and I am part of a important design team in Brazil. This is my first international team and I am very happy to show my work outside my country. Thank you for this opportunity. I hope I can contribute greatly to the success of this great team.

My name is Corrie and I have loved paper since I was a young child. I started scrapbooking in high school, although I didn't know that is what I was doing then, and made a huge album dedicated to my favorite band. Fast forward many, many years and the scrapbooking started up again when I realized all my precious photos were just being tossed in a plastic tub! Three beautiful kids, an adoring husband and me, a camera happy mom, equals a lot of photos! Since
that day scrapbooking has become my release, my joy and my obsession. I love all the paper, all the supplies and the community. I am so thrilled to be a part of the Sketchy Thursdays team! It is one of my favorite places to be!

Hi, my name is Natalia. I live in Moscow, Russia, with my husband and gorgeous girl (Mary aged 4), who inspires me most of all. I started scrapbooking in August 2008 and haven’t looked back. I just love the whole process of scrapbooking. The story telling, the pretty papers, getting messy fingers with paints and inks, incorporating a lot of everyday memorabilia into my work, preserving our family memories and meeting such wonderful scrapbuddies along the way. Hey, everyone. I'm Monica, Texas born and raised but currently living at 9,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with my husband, our teenage daughter, and our seriously rotten, but oh so cute, four-legged puppy. I spend most of my days working from home (a 9 to 5 job for a corporation) and enjoying my hobbies in the evenings and on weekends. I've been scrapbooking for about 12 years now and am still as passionate about it as the day I discovered it. I love it when I have the chance to spend the day in my scrap room watching movies and just creating. I'm also a huge animal lover and volunteer with my daughter every week at a local wildlife rehabilitation center. When not working, scrapping or volunteering, you can usually find me watching way too much TV and/or getting sucked into the internet (a.k.a. pinterest)...so much inspiration out there!

We know that many of you are directly affected by the earthquake, tsunami and aftermath that has hit your region. We want to let you know that we are thinking about you and wishing you the best as your country works through the disaster.
